With a bit more practice

Our first pizzas where a bit of a disaster, with a bit of practice, and realizing the crust need to be thinner we started to get the hang of things. Wood fired pizza needs a thin crust, and don't go overboard on the toppings. I made up a batch of dough, and set the table with as many different toppings as possible. Everyone made their own pizza and the fun began.

We still have lots to learn about making pizza, but when your kids would rather have homemade pizza than ordering in, maybe we are on the right track. This winter we will work on crust recipes. A new additions to the dough making is a Magic Mill DLX 9000. This is an older machine but works great for doing large batches of dough. I still prefer making dough by hand, but if you are making dough for 20 pizzas this is the way to go. These machines are still made by Electrolux in Sweden, google The Verona/Magic Mill DLX or Electrolux Assistent. I was looking at other mixers but there really isn't anything out there that compares to this machine unless you go to a commercial unit. The good news is they are not well know in North America so you can pick them up at a reasonable price used.
